Eight Weld Valley Activists Appear in Court, Ancient Forest Destruction
Continues

"Eight Weld Valley Activists will appear on Friday in Hobart Magistrates
Court, for bearing witness to wilderness destruction  in the Lower Weld
Valley.  In the past 4 months, people have been arrested whilst aiming
to highlight the ongoing logging of ancient forest, " Huon Valley
Environment Centre Jenny Weber said.

"Lower Weld Valley is today bearing the brunt of two intensive logging
operations in wilderness forest, another community member was arrested
in a tree sit protest after halting traffic on Eddy rd.  Forestry
Tasmania is paying 24 hour security in the Weld forest, Eddy rd has
become a major logging highway and one log truckloads of ancient forests
are leaving the ancient Weld Valley," Jenny Weber said.
