*International Spotlight on Weld Valley Forest Protest*

Southern Tasmania's Forest Destruction a Global Issue

An article in US based newspaper Christian Science Monitor, published on Monday 24th April, has given international exposure to Camp Weld. Camp Weld is a successful forest protest in Southern Tasmania that has protected high conservation forest for the past 7 months.

"While there are threatened World Heritage Forests in the Weld Valley, forest destruction in the valley will remain a global issue. Urgent protection is needed in Tasmania's Lower Weld Valley to ensure high conservation forests are not logged," Huon Valley Environment Centre Spokesperson Jenny Weber said.
