Add Weld to the Airwalk
Thank God someone is willing to make a stand
for Tasmania's Southern Forests (The Mercury, Sept 27).
I have visited the Lower Weld Valley. It is a spectucalar region
of pristine forests, waterfalls and wild mountain scenery just
minutes from the Tahune Airwalk.
Bushwalkers, anglers, four-wheel drivers, rafters and cavers use
the area.
Why can't Forestry Tasmania integrate the Weld into its Tahune
Airwalk experience?
Why can't we leave a few patches of leatherwood for the beekeepers
who are being forced to give up their apiraries in the area?
Why are the woodchippers given free reign to plunder and destroy
this unique asset?
