[How You Can Help The Weld Valley]The Huon Valley Environment Centre is a network of community members who are concerned about the imminent threat to the Weld Valley. Over the next couple of years, we will witness either the protection or destruction of what remains of southern Tasmania's unprotected ancient forests. The Huon Valley Environment Centre is working toward the protection of the pristine southern forests and we welcome your support.
What You Can Do ...
1. Connect with The Weld Valley and visit the Southern Forests. Contact the Huon Valley Environment Centre for a copy of the self-drive and open day information.
2. Write to the Premier of Tasmania, your local Politicians and Newspapers. Express your concerns about the destruction of pristine, ancient forests and request that the Weld Valley be protected from logging.
3. Be a conscious consumer. Avoid products
made from the destruction of ancient forests. Your decisions do
make a difference. Use recycled writing and photocopying paper,
choose recycled toilet paper and use cloth nappies and sanitary
products. Avoid buying Tasmanian Oak, over 75% of Tasmanian Oak
is sourced from Old Growth Forests. Avoid shopping at Gunns Mitre
10 Hardware stores.
