Ta Ann - destroying Tasmania's forests

WHO IS TA ANN? - Ta Ann Holdings is a Malaysian-based multinational logging and timber
products company.Ta Ann Holdings has a track record of rainforest destruction and human rights
violations in the Malaysian state of Sarawak.

Ta Ann has now moved into Tasmania bringing its disregard for the environment with it.
Ta Ann has received timber from the destruction of Tasmania’s world class forests,
including timber from old growth forests, forests with recognised World Heritage values,
threatened species habitat and other forests that are of high conservation value. It is now the
major driver of logging operations that continue to destroy large areasof old growth and high
conservation value forests in Tasmania

21.01.13 Tasmanian Forest Activists vow to continue campaigns

January Justice Activist Skillshare Success

Tasmania’s grassroots forest organisations have spent a successful activist skillshare weekend in the threatened world heritage value Picton Valley. Through workshops, guest speakers, peddle powered film nights, activists have left the January Justice event with increased knowledge about the Tasmanian forests issue.

Events continue this week with a visit to the ObserverTree planned for tomorrow and intensive workshops in Hobart in the coming days.
